Bengaluru traffic restrictions August 26: Traffic diversions announced for Eid Milad-un-Nabi procession; check major roads affected and alternative routes.

Bengaluru traffic police have announced diversions across several parts of the city for the Eid Milad-un-Nabi procession on Wednesday, August 26. The procession is expected to draw large crowds, with members of the Muslim community scheduled to gather at the YMCA Ground on Nrupatunga Road between noon and 11 pm.

Motorists travelling through central, north and west Bengaluru should expect congestion and delays as the procession moves through different stretches. Traffic police have advised commuters to plan their journeys and use designated alternate routes.



Major roads likely to see diversions

Traffic movement is expected to be affected on JC Road, RRMR Road, Kasturba Road, Devanga Road, Mallya Hospital Road, KG Road and Nrupatunga Road.

In north Bengaluru, commuters may face restrictions around RT Nagar Main Road, Chamundinagar Main Road, Dinnur Main Road, Deve Gowda Road, Jayamahal Road, Church Road, Nagawara Main Road, Tannery Main Road, Haines Road and Miller's Road.

The police have also announced restrictions on heavy vehicles entering Bengaluru from Doddabele, Hosakerehalli Toll, Nagarabhavi and Magadi Main Road between noon and 11 pm.

Mysuru Road to Majestic

Vehicles travelling from Mysuru Road towards Majestic will face diversions through Nayandahalli Junction, Nagarabhavi Circle, Madduramma Temple, Chandra Layout Junction, RPC Layout Junction and West of Chord Road.

From there, motorists can proceed through Vijayanagar Metro Station, Toll Gate Junction, Prasanna Junction, Hunasemara Junction, Lulu Mall, Okalipuram Junction and Khode Junction before reaching Majestic.

Motorists can also take the Deepanjalinagar Junction route towards West of Chord Road, before proceeding through Vijayanagar and Magadi Road towards Majestic or KR Market.

Mysuru Road to KR Market

Those travelling from Mysuru Road towards KR Market will be diverted through Nagarabhavi, Chandra Layout, RPC Layout, West of Chord Road, Vijayanagar, Toll Gate, Prasanna Junction and Hunasemara Junction.

The alternate route will then pass through Binny Mill Junction, Goodshed Road, Rayyan Road, Shanthala Circle and Khode Junction.

From Khode Junction, vehicles can continue via Lakshmanpuri Bridge, Freedom Park Junction, KR Circle, Cubbon Park, Library Road, Hudson Circle, Town Hall Junction and NR Road towards KR Market.

Diversions near Market Circle

When the procession reaches Market Circle, vehicles at AS Char Street Junction will divert towards BV K Iyengar Road.

Vehicles arriving from GP Street through SR Road will not be allowed to enter SR Street. They will instead move through GP Street towards BV K Iyengar Road.

Vehicles approaching Market Circle from KR Road will divert through Prof Shivashankarappa Circle, LB E Road, JC Road and Town Hall.

Vehicles reaching KR Road through AV Road will proceed towards Minto Circle.

Further diversions as procession moves

When the procession reaches SJP Road, vehicles coming from Mysuru Road will divert at City Market Circle towards Kalasipalya Main Road.

From there, motorists will use KP Point, Basappa Circle, LB E Road, JC Road and Town Hall to continue their journey.

Traffic police have advised commuters to avoid affected roads where possible and use the designated alternative routes during the procession.
