Weekend spending and travel form major chunk
The couple also sets aside roughly Rs 10,000 for weekend outings, alongside Rs 3,500 for petrol and cabs and around Rs 3,000 for shopping and other miscellaneous costs.Travel emerged as their single largest variable expense, according to Shubhi. The couple spends close to Rs 9 lakh annually on trips together, which works out to about Rs 75,000 per month when averaged. Combined, these expenses bring their total monthly spending to roughly Rs 1.7 lakh. Speaking about their approach to money management, Shubhi said, "We track our expenses because knowing where your money goes helps you spend more intentionally. Spend on what matters to you without the guilt."

Rent, groceries and travel explained further
In the post's caption, Shubhi elaborated on several of these expenses. On the Rs 60,000 rent and maintenance figure, she noted that rental costs in Bengaluru fluctuate widely depending on the residential society, adding that even similar flats can be priced very differently across different parts of the city. She also broke down their grocery spending, explaining that a large share of the Rs 13,000 to Rs 14,000 monthly bill goes toward high-protein foods. Items such as whey protein, Greek yogurt and paneer, she said, tend to add up quickly given their focus on high-protein essentials.
On the travel front, Shubhi clarified that the Rs 9 lakh annual figure is not an estimate but is based on actual spending tracked over the past two years, during which the couple has travelled together regularly and recorded their trip expenses, with the monthly average calculated from that data.
Tracking spending, not splitting bills
While the couple keeps a close eye on where their money goes, Shubhi clarified that this does not extend to tracking who owes whom. She wrote that although they track their expenses, they are not monitoring every rupee spent in order to settle individual dues between them.Disclaimer: This report is based on user based content and for informational basis only.
