Bengaluru restaurant staff hit man on the head with a rod after food complaint: Customer wrongly served non-veg taco instead of his veg order; man lost consciousness
A Bengaluru man who returned a wrongly delivered non-vegetarian food order to a Domino's outlet and went in to complain has alleged that a staff member struck him on the head with an iron rod, knocking him unconscious. He was hospitalised followin...

The incident took place on 4 July, and the customer, 33-year-old Siddhartha Shaurya, spent time as an inpatient at a private hospital following the alleged assault.
How it began
According to the complaint filed with Whitefield police, Siddhartha had placed an order from the Domino's outlet at around 12.55 pm. He had ordered vegetarian garlic bread and a veg taco Mexicana.
What arrived, he alleged, was a non-vegetarian taco Mexicana.
He returned the food and headed to the outlet with his brother-in-law, Kushagra, to raise the issue in person. What followed, according to his account, was anything but a routine complaint resolution.
The alleged assault
Siddhartha alleged that when he began questioning the staff about the mix-up, the atmosphere quickly turned hostile. He claimed a staff member slapped him on the face during the argument.
When he questioned that behaviour, things escalated further. A staff member at the main counter allegedly picked up an iron rod and struck him on the head with full force.
Siddhartha alleged he lost consciousness immediately after the blow.
Kushagra, along with bystanders who witnessed the incident, moved him to safety. Those present also restrained the staff member believed to be responsible and alerted police through the emergency helpline.
When officers arrived, they advised Siddhartha to seek immediate medical attention. He was subsequently taken to a private hospital, where he was admitted as an inpatient.
What the complaint says
In his complaint, Siddhartha said he did not know the staff member personally but heard other employees at the outlet referring to him as Srinivas.
Whitefield police have registered a case under Section 118 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which covers voluntarily causing hurt or grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means.
Investigation ongoing
A senior police officer confirmed that the outlet staff has also filed a counter complaint following the incident. Notices have been served on the staff members concerned, and an investigation is currently underway.
Domino's has not issued a public statement on the matter.
