Bengaluru PG turns into nightmare as woman robbed at knifepoint in broad daylight

A 30-year-old assistant engineer with BESCOM was allegedly robbed at knifepoint by an unidentified man inside her paying guest accommodation in Judicial Layout, police said on Monday. The incident came to light following a complaint lodged with Yelahanka police, as reported by PTI.

According to the complaint, the woman, who had been staying at the PG for around 15 days, returned from work at approximately 3 pm on 11 August when an unknown man knocked on her door. Assuming it was another occupant, she opened it.

The man allegedly pressed a knife to her neck, demanding her gold bangle, and reportedly molested her while threatening to harm her if she resisted. When she struggled to remove the bangle, the assailant allegedly demanded cash as well, police added.


She told him to take money from her vanity bag on the bed. Seizing a moment while he was distracted, she ran into the bathroom, locked the door, and raised an alarm. The accused reportedly fled with her two mobile phones.

A police investigation is underway to identify the suspect and recover the stolen items, the authorities said.
