Bengaluru: Newly opened metro station on Whitefield line flooded after rains
According to the Met department, the Kempegowda International Airport in Devanahalli received 45.2 mm rainfall on Tuesday evening. Due to the heavy downpour, traffic was thrown out of gear and normal life was paralysed in Devanahalli.

Following heavy rains in parts of Bengaluru on Tuesday, waterlogging was seen in the newly inaugurated Nallurhalli metro station, complained some users on Twitter. They shared photos and videos of the metro station. "Water on the platform as well near the ticketing counter. One rain, and water has seeped inside fully," said a user.
Bengaluru received heavy downpour on Tuesday and many flights had to be diverted due to the bad weather. Strong crosswinds and heavy rains with thunder and lightning impacted flight operations from 4.05 PM to 4.51 PM, Press Trust of India reported, citing an airport official.

12 stations. The stretch will provide much needed succour to people by reducing traffic congestion in the city.
Officials said this section, which comprises 12 stations, was the 15.81 km eastern extension to the operational East-West Corridor (Purple Line) from Baiyappanahalli to Whitefield Station.
It would cut down journey time on this route by 40 per cent and reduce road traffic congestion.
The new line of the Bengaluru Metro would benefit five lakh to six lakh Bengalurians working in tech parks, export promotion industrial areas, malls, hospitals and several Fortune 500 companies.
