Bengaluru Metro Shocker: ‘I caught him red-handed’: Woman alleges fellow passenger secretly recorded her on metro, FIR filed
"I am literally shaking right now. I caught a guy red-handed, recording me in the metro," the woman said in a video recorded shortly after the alleged incident.
The woman, named Sowpika on Instagram, shared a video explaining the incident, which she said occurred around 4:30 pm on Tuesday aboard a Metro train in Whitefield, Bengaluru. In the footage, she appears visibly distressed while accusing a fellow passenger of recording her without her consent.
Woman says she was fully covered during the incident
In the video, the woman also shows the clothes she was wearing at the time and emphasises that she was fully covered when the alleged incident took place."There is no skin showing," she says, pointing out that her clothing was not a factor in what allegedly happened.
The footage captures her confronting the man and repeatedly questioning him while holding his phone. She can be heard asking, "Why were you recording me?"
At one point, she asks him to unlock the device. The man responds, "I will open it. Give."
Metro security personnel are also visible in the footage as the confrontation continues.
Woman alleges man took back his phone and fled
Recounting what happened next, the woman alleged that the man left the train when it reached a station and managed to take his phone back."I caught his phone but he exited, he ran from the metro when the stop came. I caught his phone, gave it to the security, but he snatched it and ran. Please Bangalore people, find this man, find his company, find his family. I launched an official complaint with the metro station. They said they will follow up in 7 days," she said in the video.
The footage later shows the interaction continuing inside a Metro lift, where the woman tells the man, "I will post this on social media."
The man responds, "I am sorry."
The woman then asks, "You are sorry? So you admit that you recorded me?"
The man replies, "No."
She responds, "Oh really? I caught you. I will make sure you get punished."
Later in the video, the woman again asks the man to unlock his phone and share the password. However, the footage shows him taking the device back and walking away while she continues asking him to open it.
