Bengaluru is well known for being the IT hub of India and is well known for startups but it is ridiculously difficult to find a house on rent due to the high demand. The city is also well known for high rent prices and landlord's unreasonable demands.

One person who had a hard time getting an apartment on rent posted about his unfortunate interaction with a landlord from Bangalore. The person shared on Twitter how his cousin was rejected by a prospective landlord because of his marks in Class 12.

While it may seem implausible, but the entire interaction was recorded on a WhatsApp conversation that the Twitter user's cousin had with a broker. Twitter user Shubh (@kadaipaneeeer) shared how a broker asked his cousin Yogesh to share his LinkedIn, Twitter profiles, joining letter of the company he was employed with and his mark sheets of Class 10th and 12th, apart from Aadhar and PAN cards. He also asked him to write a 200-word piece about himself.

Following this interaction, the broker then told him that the landlord has rejected his application because of his Class 12th marks. According to him, the reason for the rejection was because his Class 12th marks were less than expected.

“Marks don’t decide your future, but it definitely decides whether you get a flat in banglore or not,” Shubh wrote as caption to the post.

Shubh shared in the comments that this landlord is a retired professor from IIM.

“Haha, this is a sad reality & when my owner got to know about my work, she invited me over for coffee,” a user shared. “Bro it’s true. Also, if you tell your maid that you work in some IT company, she will ask you 30k monthly for the households, and by any chance if you are able to convince her that you don’t work in IT, then the charges drop down to 9k,” another person said. “Soon we will have entrance exam for Bangalore flats!!!” wrote another netizen sarcastically.
