The officials of a private courier company were left bewildered when a family tried to parcel elderly man claiming it was a protest against high bus fares ahead of Ugadi and Eid-ul-Fitr, PTI reported quoting police officials.

The family reached the courier office with an old man placed inside a gunny bag in the Vyalikaval area of central Bengaluru on Tuesday evening, a senior police officer told PTI. The family asked the man to be sent as a parcel claiming that it was a symbolic protest against the high bus fare ahead of festivals.

Shocked by the request, company officials alerted the police. The elder man’s daughter told the police that they carried out this stunt as part of a reel and also a protest. While the police inquiry was going on, the old man inside the sack experienced difficulty in breathing and the situation turned serious as per police.

The officials warned that the act could have endangered the man's life and attracted serious legal consequences.

"No legal action was taken against them. However, the family was let off with a warning after issuing a video apology and were strictly cautioned against such dangerous stunts in the future, the officer added.

Man dies in Delhi after reel stunt with real gun goes wrong

A 28-year-old man, identified as Pawan Kumar, died in Delhi after a reel stunt involving a real gun went fatally wrong. The victim had reportedly taken his cousin Himanshu’s firearm to shoot the video when the weapon accidentally discharged, causing fatal injuries.

In the 20-second video, Pawan is seen with a gun tucked into the left front pocket of his trousers. He pulls out the weapon and loads a cartridge into the magazine while preparing for the stunt.

As he cocks the gun, a man, believed to be Himanshu, is heard warning him not to “fire”. Moments later, Pawan points the weapon at his own chest using his right hand.

Within seconds, the gun discharges and he collapses to the floor. Himanshu can then be heard shouting, “What have you done?” as the clip ends.
