Bengaluru-based AI startup launches voice-based Kanha AI companion for children powered by BharatGPT

A Bengaluru-based company, CoRover AI, has launched Kanha Ji, a voice-first AI companion for children aged 0 to 7 years. The company said the device is designed to support learning routines, encourage emotional well-being, and enable conversation without screens. Kanha AI is powered by CoRover’s conversational AI platform and BharatGPT, and is available for families through its official website.

Screen-free design focused on voice interaction
The company said Kanha AI has no display, videos, or visual interface. It uses voice interaction to engage children in conversation and daily routines. The device greets children, asks simple questions, and responds to their tone and interests over time.


Kanha AI uses prompts such as “Good morning. Ready to learn something new?” and “You seemed quiet today. Want to talk?” to encourage children to speak and reflect. The company said the system adapts to a child’s conversational patterns and remembers context to respond in a consistent way.

The concept draws from the character of Krishna, focusing on curiosity, play, and balance in conversation.

Built with focus on safety and parental oversight
The company said the design aims to make the device suitable for use in homes with young children. The company said that Kanha AI is linked to a parent app that allows families to view interaction summaries and monitor emotional signals. The app also allows parents to set active hours and receive alerts such as safety alerts, medical alerts, bullying alerts, and emotional alerts. Parents can also add reminders for activities like reading, music practice, and family time.
