Ben Stokes hints coming out of ODI Retirement. Here's why

After having an impressive run in the T20 world cup in Australia and playing a pivotal role for his team in winning the world cup, fans called for him to come out of retirement for ODI. The England Test Captain has yet to throw out the possibility of taking a break from his ODI retirement to play in the 50-over world cup next year in India.

His phenomenal performance in the T20 World Cup in Australia helped them lift the World Cup and has prompted calls for him to return from retirement to defend the main title of the ODI World Cup again in India next year. His performance in the 2019 ODI world cup undoubtedly played a central part in England’s victory. Stokes announced his ODI retirement in July this year after facing a lot of pressure from playing all three formats simultaneously and had reportedly walked out when ECB chief Rob Key had tried to coax him out of retirement. In a press event before the Pakistan test series, he shared that he couldn’t confirm if he might return for the ODI world cup as he was focused on the series ahead, but he added it might feel good to represent his country again at the 50-over World Cup.
