BeerBiceps creator Ranveer Allahbadia quotes Kabir doha on rebuilding after controversy
Creator Ranveer Allahbadia revealed a single incident significantly disrupted years of work on his platforms, BeerBiceps and The Ranveer Show. This disruption is linked to controversy over inappropriate remarks made on the comedy show 'India's Got...

Allahbadia said it took him and his team nearly a decade to build both platforms, but noted that “in one incident, a large part of it was shaken,” without directly naming the episode.
Focus shifts to rebuilding after setback
Allahbadia said that in the aftermath of the disruption, his team looked to him for direction on the next steps. He acknowledged that the situation required a reassessment of priorities and a long-term approach to recovery.Drawing from philosophical thought, he referred to a well-known couplet by Kabir to frame his response to the challenge.
“धीरे-धीरे रे मना, धीरे सब कुछ होय, माली सींचे सौ घड़ा, ऋतु आए फल होय,” the doha reads, emphasising patience and the natural pace of growth.
Controversy over remarks on India’s Got Latent
The incident dates back to last year when Allahbadia faced widespread backlash for his remarks on India’s Got Latent. During an episode, he allegedly asked a contestant an inappropriate question involving body parts and proposed an indecent act in exchange for money. The outrage intensified after he posed a controversial question to a participant, which quickly went viral on social media and drew criticism from users, politicians and members of the film industry.
Police complaint and FIR filed
Following the backlash, a police complaint was filed against Allahbadia and others associated with the show, including Samay Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh and Apoorva Makhija. The FIR invoked multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), alleging promotion of obscene and sexually explicit content. The episode in question was subsequently removed from YouTube, and further investigation remains underway.
Apology issued after backlash
Allahbadia later issued a public apology through a video statement, acknowledging the nature of his remarks.“My comment wasn’t just inappropriate, it wasn’t even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I am just here to say sorry,” he said, adding that he did not intend to justify or provide context for what happened.
