Beach, biscuits, and a bandar: Mamata Banerjee’s tea break with a monkey goes viral

West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee grabbed attention online after she shared photos of herself feeding a monkey during her visit to Digha.

Posted on her official Instagram account, the photos show Banerjee sitting on a pavement, offering biscuits to a monkey seated nearby.

The calm interaction was captured in a series of three images with the caption: “When tea by the sea leads to an unspoken bond.”

The post has gone viral, gathering over 20,000 likes. One user mentioned that the pictures were taken at Digha beach in West Bengal’s Purba Medinipur district.

Banerjee is in Digha to attend the Shri Jagannath Rath Yatra. Speaking during the visit, she said the temple has now become a significant pilgrimage destination.
