Barcelona's contract with Robert Lewandowski: Here's all that you need to know about it

Robert Lewandowski is on the verge of signing a contract with Barcelona. After Lionel Messi’s exit in 2021, there have been a lot of speculations about who would fill the void created by his absence from the club. Getting Lewandowski on board seems to be a very good move by the club as he could greatly improve its prospects going forward.

The club has also been debt-ridden for a while, and there is a good chance of Lewandowski’s entry helping it pay off many of its dues. Apart from Lewandowski’s inclusion, the club is also quite excited about the pre-season tour.

While a sum of €45 million will be paid upfront by the club, it will also have to pay an additional amount of €5 million if certain conditions are fulfilled. As per reports, Barcelona might also be required to pay a commission fee of €20 million to Pini Zahavi, who happens to be the Polish footballer’s agent.


The agent, who hails from Israel, has played an important role in ensuring the deal goes through smoothly and both the parties are satisfied with it. Zahavi stands to receive an amount of €5 million every year from the club.

Lewandowski is also slated to sign a four-year contract that will result in him getting committed to the club till the year 2026. Every year, he will be provided with €9 million as his remuneration or wage. The new wage structure for Barcelona was put in place by Joan Laporta recently. As per the new wage structure, it would be safe to declare Lewandowski as the highest earner in the club.
