Bank holidays for the month of August

These are the bank holidays in August 2022 and will be applicable in different cities. Banks will be closed on account of Janmashtami and is applicable for banks in Bhubaneswar, Dehradun, Kanpur, and Lucknow.

State banks will be closed in different cities because of the upcoming festivals in the month of August. Here is a comprehensive list of all the upcoming festivals and bank holidays.

Bank Holidays in August 2022:

1. August 16th: On August 16 (Tuesday), banks were closed in multiple cities on account of the Parsi New Year. Banks in three major cities, Belapur, Mumbai and Nagpur were closed. The day marks the beginning of the new year for the Parsi community.


2. August 18th: Banks will be closed on account of Janmashtami and is applicable for banks in Bhubaneswar, Dehradun, Kanpur, and Lucknow.

3. August 19th: Banks will also be closed on August 19th on account of Janmashtami/ Krishna Jayanthi and banks in Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Chennai, Gangtok, Jaipur, Jammu, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla, and Srinagar.

4. August 20th: Banks will be closed on account of Sri Krishna Ashtami and is applicable to banks in Hyderabad.

5. August 29th: Banks will be closed on account of Tithi of Srimanta Sankardeva and is applicable in Guwahati.

6. August 31st: Banks will be closed on account of Samvatsari (Chaturthi Paksha)/ Ganesh Chaturthi/Varasiddhi Vinayaka Vrata/ Vinayakar Chathurthi and will be applicable in Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhubaneshwar, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Nagpur, and Panaji.
