As per the video released by Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), fourteen Pakistan Army soldiers reportedly died in Balochistan’s Kachhi district when their vehicle was hit by an improvised explosive device (IED). The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for the attack, according to an official statement.

BLA Targets Pakistan Army convoy in Kachhi

"Terrorists belonging to the Balochistan Liberation Army targeted a security forces' vehicle with an improvised explosive device in the general area Mach, Kachhi district," news agency PTI quoted a Pakistan Army statement as saying.

The explosion destroyed the army vehicle and killed all 14 soldiers on board. The dead include Special Operations Commander Tariq Imran and Subedar Umar Farooq, according to news agency ANI.

Army launches sanitisation operation

Following the incident, Pakistan Army said it was conducting a sanitisation operation in the area to eliminate any remaining militants.

This attack comes days after Pakistan’s security forces killed 10 terrorists in Balochistan in two separate incidents in Kech and Ziarat districts. Authorities said the killings were part of a wider crackdown on militant groups in the province.

BLA’s history of violent attacks

The BLA has carried out several similar attacks in the past. In March, the group hijacked the Jaffar Express, a passenger train travelling from Quetta to Peshawar with 440 people on board. The incident resulted in the deaths of 21 civilians and four soldiers. Balochistan has faced continuous unrest for nearly 20 years. Ethnic Baloch groups accuse Pakistan’s federal government of exploiting the province’s natural resources without fair compensation or development in the region.

BLA Attack a Day After India Carried Out Strike in Pakistan

The BLA attack comes a day after India carried out strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan-occupied territory. Indian defence sources said the operation targeted camps used by militant groups for launching cross-border attacks. The strikes were carried out with precision and were aimed at preventing future infiltration attempts.

Following the Indian action, the situation along the Line of Control and within Pakistan has remained tense. The Balochistan Liberation Army’s (BLA) attack on Pakistani troops in the Kachhi district added to the pressure on Pakistan’s security establishment. While there is no official link between the two incidents, the timing has drawn attention amid heightened tensions in the region.
