Bail, Beats & Firecrackers: Drug peddler given 'hero welcome' after returning from jail; video goes viral

According to police, the gathering took place on the night of July 16, shortly after Khan was released from Thane Central Jail. Around 35 of his former fellow inmates, along with others, assembled near the jail before proceeding in a car convoy to Nayanagar in Mira Road. There, outside a hotel, the group set off firecrackers and chanted slogans, prompting police action. A case has since been registered.
The group played loud music and created an "atmosphere of fear and public disturbance," according to a police official.
In the viral video, Kamran Mohammad Khan is seen embracing family members while his friends burst firecrackers, engulfing the area in smoke.
Acting on the footage, the Mira-Bhayandar Vasai-Virar (MBVV) Police registered a case on Saturday against 39 individuals under Section 189 (unlawful assembly) and other relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Another video has gone viral showing the police crack down on the revellers the following day. A case was filed at Nayanagar police station, Mira Road on Saturday.
