B.Tech Chaiwali: Bihar engineering student runs tea stall in Faridabad

Vartika Singh did not want to wait the four years needed to complete her degree before starting off on her own. She took the first step by setting up a tea stall near Green Field in Faridabad

She came to Faridabad all the way from Bihar to do her degree in engineering and then go on to start something on her own.

But Vartika Singh did not want to wait the four years needed to complete her degree before starting off on her own.

"There is no point in waiting for four years for my BTech to finish and then do a startup. There is no point in wasting time," she says in a video posted on her Instagram handle.

So, she took the first step by setting up a tea stall near Green Field in Faridabad where she sells tea from 5.30 pm to 9 pm.

She calls her tea stall BTech Chaiwali. 'Self-belief and hard work will always earn you success,' says the banner which carries the name.

Vartika sells regular tea for Rs 10, and masala and lemon teas for Rs 20 each. In her video she can be seen brewing the tea and serving it in two paper cups.

For those who have watched her video, Vartika has one request: "Don't just share it and make it viral. Nothing comes out of that. Please do come and try this tea at least once. Don't come again if you don't like it."

Many flooded the comments section with praise.

"We wish you become India's most inspiring businesswoman," commented a user. "I like your smile and confidence. I will pray for you," said another.

Vartika's story would remind people of MBA Chaiwala - a 25-year-old who established a tea stall with a turnover of Rs 4 crore.
