Ayodhya's age-old Ramlila returns to stage after year-long Covid break
Ayodhya's renowned Ramlila, a cherished tradition in the temple town for over six decades, made a triumphant comeback after a year-long hiatus imposed by the Covid 19 pandemic. The grand spectacle was staged at the Swami Shri Bhagwatcharya Smarak Sadan, organized by the Sant Shri Tulsidas Ramlila Committee.

This iconic Ramlila, an annual fixture since 1964, had its last performance on October 17, 2021. The pandemic had compelled the cancellation of this beloved event as it kept people confined indoors and cities under lockdown. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the Sant Shri Tulsidas Ramlila Committee, the Ramlila has once again graced the stage.

Veteran Ayodhya seer Mahant Awadhesh Kumar Das Maharaj spoke to ANI, highlighting the crucial role played by the Sant Shri Tulsidas Ramlila Committee in reviving this widely popular tradition. He called upon the devotees of Lord Ram to come forward and support the smooth execution of the Ramlila while incorporating Lord Ram's teachings into their daily lives.

Notable spiritual leaders, including Sanjay Das of Ayodhya and Hanumangarhi, Mahant Bindu Gaddacharya of Dashrath Mahal temple, Mahant Rasik Peethadhishwar of Janaki Mahal temple, and Mahant Avadhesh Das Ji Maharaj of Bada Bhakta Mahal temple, graced the event with their presence. In addition, political leaders, including Ayodhya's MP, Mayor, and MLAs, also attended the grand staging of the Ramlila on Thursday.

The return of Ayodhya's Ramlila marks a significant moment, rekindling a cherished tradition that holds a special place in the hearts of the local community and devotees from across the country. The event's successful comeback after the pandemic-imposed hiatus signifies resilience and continuity in the face of adversity, making it a memorable occasion for all.
