Avengers: Doomsday teaser officially released by Marvel confirming return of a key character. Check trailer, releasing date and cast

Marvel fans have plenty to celebrate as the first teaser for Avengers: Doomsday has finally arrived.

On Tuesday, Marvel Entertainment unveiled the teaser on its official YouTube channel, confirming the return of Chris Evans as Steve Rogers, better known as Captain America.

The teaser made its debut in theatres alongside Avatar: Fire and Ash, directed by James Cameron, before being released online for fans worldwide.


The brief clip opens on a calm, rural setting, showing Steve Rogers riding a motorcycle across a quiet farm as a gentle piano version of the Avengers theme plays in the background. He wears a blue helmet that subtly echoes his Captain America suit. In one touching moment, Steve is seen holding a newborn baby. The teaser closes with the words, “Steve Rogers will return for Avengers: Doomsday,” followed by a countdown clock marking one year to the film’s release.



Directors Russo Brothers shared the teaser on Instagram, writing, “The character that changed our lives. The story that brought us all here together. It was always going to come back to this…”

Marvel also revealed the film’s first poster, dominated by a green colour palette that hints at the looming presence of Doctor Doom, one of Marvel’s most iconic villains.

This is not Chris Evans’ first return to the Marvel universe after Avengers: Endgame. As reported by Variety, he made a surprise appearance in 2024 as the Human Torch in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Evans won’t be the only original Avenger back. Robert Downey Jr. is also returning—this time portraying Doctor Doom instead of Iron Man. Other returning cast members include Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd, Tom Hiddleston, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Simu Liu, Florence Pugh and David Harbour, among others.

Actors from the X-Men universe—Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, James Marsden and Rebecca Romijn—are also set to appear in the film.

Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to hit theatres on December 18, 2026.
