The Avatar sequel earned Rs. 46 crore on its third day and Rs. 18.6 crores on its fourth day. By the fifth day, the box office collection of the movie declined to Rs. 16.63 crores. However, it broke records of many Hollywood movies and earned the second highest at the Indian box office after Avengers: Endgame which had earned Rs. 53 crores on the opening.
However, the Box office of India expects the movie to go strong this festive weekend and earn Rs. 15 crores on its sixth day and even reach Rs. 200 crores in the coming days. Despite the decline, the movie has been able to keep ahead of many Bollywood movies released this year. The movie has performed better than the lifetime collection of Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha which earned Rs. 58 crores and Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu which earned Rs. 71.87 crores.
It is hoped that if Avatar 2 continues to earn in the same way and pace, it will soon surpass the lifetime collection of Ajay Devgan’s Drishyam.
