The ban on Avatar 2 has been lifted in Kerala, and the film will be released on December 16, after all conflicts between producers and theatre owners have been settled.

According to the latest updates, distributors have now agreed to have a share of 55 percent of profits earned from the movie during the initial two weeks of ‘Avatar: 2’s release. Theatre owners will be claiming the rest of the profit (45 percent) from the movie.
The standoff over the distribution of the 'Avatar-The Way of the Water' in Kerala has been resolved. The ban has been lifted and James Cameroon’s ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ is all set to hit the big screens in Kerala now.
Initially, fans in Kerala were depressed as uncertainty loomed large over the release of James Cameron’s film in the state due to disagreement over a profit-sharing clause with the film’s distributors.
Film Exhibitors’ United Organisation of Kerala (FEUOK) decided to ban the film after its producers demanded a 60 percent share in profits, above the usual 50 percent for producers, in the first few weeks of release.
