Bharati Mukhi, who worked as a salesgirl at the Lifestyle store inside Inorbit Mall, died on August 16 after she was allegedly hit by a speeding Aston Martin while crossing the road. Madhapur police have named Sanjush in the case, with the FIR alleging that he was driving the vehicle at high speed and in a rash and negligent manner at around 3pm.
The case has been registered under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which covers death caused by a rash or negligent act that does not amount to culpable homicide.
Who is Lingamaneni Sanjush?
Sanjush is the son of Lingamaneni Ramesh, a Jana Sena Party Rajya Sabha MP associated with the party led by Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.At 21, Sanjush is listed as a director in two companies operating in the energy and power sectors, Black Ridge Energy Private Limited and Capital Energy Private Limited.
How the fatal accident happened
The complaint was filed by Panjala Ashwin Kumar, the manager of the Lifestyle store. According to the FIR, Bharati and her colleague Pooja Ashok Alone, both aged 26, had gone towards ITC Kohenur to collect food.The two women were on their way back to Inorbit Mall when Bharati was allegedly struck by an Aston Martin bearing registration number TG-09-G-0666 while crossing the road opposite the shopping centre.
Bharati sustained a severe bleeding injury to her head. She was taken to Apollo Hospital in Jubilee Hills in the same vehicle, but doctors declared her dead.

According to police records, the Aston Martin used in the crash is registered under the name of Honor Prime Housing LLP.Madhapur police stated that no arrest had been made in the case, since the offence booked against him is bailable and attracts a maximum sentence of under seven years. Madhapur ACP Ch Sridhar told TOI that notices had been served on Sanjush.
"As the road accident negligence case punishment is below seven years, it is bailable. There is no arrest in the case. We have served notices to the accused. There is no lacuna in police reporting in the case," Sridhar said.
What Section 106(1) of BNS means
Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita provides for imprisonment of up to five years and a fine for causing death through a rash or negligent act that does not amount to culpable homicide.Police said they were continuing to investigate the circumstances of the crash and reconstruct the sequence of events that resulted in Bharati’s death.
Sanjush and Lingamaneni Ramesh were contacted for their response, but an email seeking comment went unanswered. Cyberabad Police Commissioner Masthipuram Ramesh Reddy was also unavailable for comment, as per TOI report.
