Arin can speak around 12 languages, says Rahul Sharma
Rahul also shared an interesting detail about Arin’s linguistic abilities, revealing that the eight-year-old can understand and speak around 12 languages. These include Korean, Japanese, Thai and Chinese, he said.“I am finding it difficult to speak even two languages. We are stuck with English and Hindi,” Rahul said during the interview.
Why the couple have kept television and mobile phones away from their daughter
Rahul said books have replaced screens in their household, with the couple choosing not to introduce television or mobile phones to Arin so far.“We have not given Arin any screens thus far. Therefore, no TVs or mobile phones. We only have books at home. We probably have more books at home than Arin has at her school,” he said.
The family's book collection goes well beyond Arin's current grade. While she is in Class 2, her parents have already stocked books for Classes 8 and 9. Rahul joked about how far ahead their collection goes, saying, “Let her appear for the Class 10 board exam as well. What difference does it make?”
He added that the approach was largely Asin's contribution, crediting his wife for the reading-focused environment they have created for their daughter.
