Asia Cup 2022: Ravi Shastri blunders at toss, gets trolled

Ravi Shastri madea mistake at the toss in India's high-profile match against Pakistan, and the whole world could hear it

ANI
Ravi Shastri with the mic brings high energy to any cricket tournament, but on Sunday the ace commentator blundered at the toss in India's high-profile match against Pakistan.

It was when Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and Pakistan skipper Babar Azam came along with match referee Andy Pycroft for the toss before start of play of their Super 4 match. It was Shastri out there on the ground with the mic.

Shastri's voice thundered: "Toss time. India-Pakistan. Round 2, Dubai. Rohit Sharma will spin the coin. Heads is the call."

Except that the rest of the world clearly heard Babar Azam call 'Tails'.

After the referee said Azam won the toss, the Pak captain came to the mic and said his team would bowl first.

At this some started wondering whether Shastri wrongly awarded the toss to Zam and jeopardised India's chances.

"Babar azam calls tails....Ravi Shastri calss its head and babar won the toss. hope Ravi Shastri's stupid mistake didn't cost us much," said one user.

Others just saw the funny side of it. " Basically Ravi Shastri made the toss call from Pakistan Side and not Babar Azam," quipped one.

And few others pointed out that it was just a harmless mistake. That Azam had indeed won the toss. If you listened clearly you could have heard Pycroft confirm that the coin had landed 'Tails'.
