The steep rise in tomato prices has become a matter of great concern. Surprisingly, this price surge has not only sparked a wave of memes on the internet but also impacted individuals beyond the common man's realm.

Renowned actor Suniel Shetty recently made a startling confession during an interview, revealing that he has been consuming fewer tomatoes due to the exorbitant prices. Speaking with Aaj Tak, he shared that his wife, Mana Shetty, prefers purchasing fresh produce for one or two days at a time. However, the skyrocketing prices of tomatoes have adversely affected their kitchen, leading to a reduction in their tomato consumption. Suniel emphasized that despite being a superstar, such issues do affect actors and stars, contrary to popular belief.

Furthermore, Suniel Shetty, who is also a restaurateur, disclosed that he has always bargained for vegetables to secure the best prices. However, he recently discovered that vegetable prices are comparatively lower on mobile apps than in physical shops and markets. Consequently, he now opts to purchase vegetables through apps not only because of the cost advantage but also due to the availability of fresh produce.

In addition to his professional engagements, the actor shared that he cultivates a wide range of fruits and vegetables at his farmhouse in Khandala, highlighting his personal commitment to self-sustainability.

Meanwhile, tomato prices have surged, ranging from Rs 130 to Rs 160 per kilogram. Vendors have even speculated that the prices may escalate further, potentially reaching Rs 200 per kilogram in the near future.

The rising tomato prices have not only captured public attention but have also impacted individuals from various walks of life, including prominent figures like Suniel Shetty. This revelation sheds light on the widespread impact of economic fluctuations and emphasizes the need for sustainable strategies to mitigate the effects of price hikes on everyday consumers.
