As rains lash Bengaluru, people in India's IT capital thank the gods with 'tears of joys'
Bengaluru experiences relief from dry weather with record-breaking high temperatures in April, culminating in the city's highest-ever temperature at Kempegowda International Airport, as residents eagerly await the unpredictable weather patterns.

As rain poured from the sky, Bengalurueans took to social media to thank the gods.
"Bengaluru is Bengalurufying after ages," said one.
"Blessed with the first rain of the summer," tweeted another.
Another person tweeted, "Raining, Varuna Deva is here, thunders and lightning, power cut too."
"After a wait of almost 6 months! It’s finally raining in South Bengaluru," said another.
Many others shared videos of rain on X, formerly Twitter.
Here are some of the posts on X.
Bengaluru saw record-breaking high temperatures throughout April. Wednesday marked the hottest day of May in the past four decades, with the mercury soaring to 38.1 degrees Celsius, as reported by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Additionally, Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) registered its highest-ever temperature, reaching 39.2 degrees Celsius, according to a TOI report.
However, Thursday's rain has brought cheers for many in India's Silicon Valley who are now keeping their fingers crossed.
Notably, the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) had earlier issued a red alert for severe heat wave for six districts of Karnataka. Bagalkote, Belagavi, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri and Koppal districts will see temperatures ranging from 40 to 46 degrees Celsius between May 1 and May 9, according to KSNDMC. The monitoring centre also pointed out that when comparing the maximum temperature recorded in Karnataka in the past seven years – between 2017 and 2024 – April 30, 2024 recorded the highest, 45.6 degrees Celsius.
