Arshad Warsi casts doubt on Munna Bhai 3, cites director's perfectionism as reason for delay

Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi, known for his memorable portrayal of 'Circuit' in the Munna Bhai film series alongside Sanjay Dutt, has recently hinted that the much-awaited Munna Bhai 3 might not materialize.

In an exclusive interview with India Today, Arshad expressed his thoughts on the potential third installment, shedding light on the challenges hindering its production.

Despite having a director, producer, audience, and actors eager to bring Munna Bhai 3 to life, Arshad revealed that director Rajkumar Hirani's perfectionism has become a stumbling block.


"The thing is, Raju [Hirani] is insanely perfectionist. He has 3 scripts which are brilliant but there are some glitches," Arshad explained. He further emphasized that until Hirani is completely confident in the script, the project will remain on hold. Arshad also highlighted that Hirani always says "yes" to the idea of the film but insists on fine-tuning the script to his satisfaction.

Arshad Warsi recently made headlines when he admitted that he initially felt his character 'Circuit' was subpar. During a conversation with Siddharth Kanan, he confessed, "I knew after doing this film, my life would be ruined. I thought my career would be over because of this film."

He even mentioned that actor Makarand Deshpande declined the opportunity to be a part of the movie, deeming the role undesirable.

Reflecting on his decision to take on the character, Arshad elaborated on the uncertainty he felt at the time. "When you agree to a role, you only see what's on paper. It's only after the film comes out when you realize what it is and what the impact has been," he remarked.

Arshad perceived his role as that of a goon, one among several others accompanying the hero. He believed that the film's success would bring him no benefits, while its failure would leave him empty-handed. Nonetheless, he acknowledged his admiration for Raju Hirani as a good man and a talented director, appreciating the story and the film itself.

Arshad Warsi's portrayal of 'Circuit' in the Munna Bhai series played a pivotal role in solidifying his position as one of Bollywood's most dependable actors.
