AR Rahman’s music for Mani Ratnam’s historical drama ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ to be unveiled soon; Know here

Mani Ratnam is back with the rousing sequel to ‘Ponniyin Selvan’, and he has teamed up with Oscar-winner music composer AR Rahman for the film’s major soundtrack premiere.

Lyca Productions announced the release date of the ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ music album on Sunday. Lyca Productions took to Twitter to share a video of AR Rahman working with other musicians on the album, which will be released on March 29 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai.



Mani Ratnam’s directing abilities helped make the movie ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ a huge success, and the audience members gave him a warm reception for his work.

The first chapter of the film was made available to the public on September 30, 2022, and it starred Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Trisha. The storyline and the score of the movie, in addition to the performers, were lauded by both the audience and the critics.

The film was inspired by Kalki Krishnamurthy's novel of the same name. Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, and others also appeared in the film. The movie was made available in Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada.

The sequel to the 2022 blockbuster film ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ will be released on April 28 as a bilingual feature.
