April exam calendar 2026: JEE, UPSC, board exams and government job notifications

A number of major entrance, recruitment and board examinations are scheduled across April 2026, making it a crucial month for students and job aspirants. From engineering entrance tests to UPSC exams and board finals, candidates are advised to keep track of dates and plan accordingly.

Entrance exams in April 2026

• JEE Main 2026 (Session 2): Conducted by the National Testing Agency, exams will be held from April 2 to April 8.
• VITEEE 2026: Organised by Vellore Institute of Technology, scheduled from April 28 to May 3.
• MHT CET 2026:
  • PCM stream: April 11 to 19
  • PCB stream: April 21 to 26
• MET 2026 (Phase 1): Conducted by Manipal Academy of Higher Education on April 13 and 14.
• NCET 2026: National Common Entrance Test for teacher programmes on April 17.
• AEEE 2026 (Phase 2): Scheduled from April 25 to April 30.

Government and recruitment exams

• UPSC NDA & NA (I) 2026: April 12
• UPSC CDS (I) 2026: April 12
• RBI Assistant 2026 (Preliminary): Expected on April 11
• IDBI Junior Assistant Manager: Online test on April 12
• RRB NTPC 2026 (Stage 1): Tentatively scheduled for April
• United India Insurance Company (UIIC) is expected to release the AO 2026 recruitment notification in the first week of April
• Other exams: MOIL Management Trainee (April 3), BPSC AEDO (April 14–21), Haryana Civil Services (April 26)

Board exams and school assessments

• CBSE Class 10 and 12: Exams expected to conclude by April 9, 2026
• NIOS (National Institute of Open Schooling):
  • Practical exams conclude on April 1
  • Theory exams begin April 10 and continue into May
