Apple watch ultra with microLED display is likely to be launched in 2025, according to reports. Earlier, there were reports that Apple was gearing up to use upgraded microLED displays for Apple Watch from next year. However, recent reports claimed that Apple is expected to launch Apple Watch with microLED display technology ahead of the second half of 2025.

Apple currently uses OLED technology for displays of its Apple Watch. The MicroLED display is known to offer colour contrast and high resolution, as per reports. Reports have also claimed that apart from iPhone, Apple is also expected to switch to micro-LED from OLED in the near future.

Google Pixel users come in second with 71 per cent of Pixel smartphone users who own a smartwatch saying that they own the Google Pixel Watch, according to the report by Counterpoint Research.

According to a separate report, Samsung has also been planning to switch to microLED displays from OLED. Among Samsung smartphone users who own a smartwatch, only 40 per cent use Samsung Galaxy Watches, the Counterpoint Research report revealed.

While Apple sold about one Apple Watch for every three iPhones in Q4 2022, Samsung sold only one Galaxy Watch for every 10 Galaxy smartphones in the US, as per the Counterpoint Research report.
