iPhones are known for their clutter-free and ad-free experience. However, this might change soon as Apple is reportedly planning on adding advertisements to its apps.

According to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is looking to expand its ad revenue by pushing more ads in its apps on iPhones and iPads.

Currently, the tech giant shows ads in the App Store, News and Stocks apps on the iPad, iPhone and Mac. Apple also recently inserted ads inside TV+ for its Friday Night Baseball.

Apple will charge a fixed amount from businesses to get featured in local searches on Maps for example, or have their apps be more prominently featured on the App Store.

The company already earns a huge revenue of around $4 billion per year for the ads it currently shows. Apple wants to increase that figure to double digits.
