Apple iPhone Ultra launch tipped for September: iPhone 18 Pro, foldable iPhone price, specs, release date and all latest rumours

Apple is reportedly preparing to unveil its first-ever foldable iPhone, expected to be called the iPhone Ultra, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max during its annual September launch event. According to reports, Apple is likely to hold the event on September 8 or 9 where it might announce the devices. Pre-orders are expected to begin on September 10 or 11.

If the reports are accurate, the iPhone Ultra will become Apple's most premium smartphone yet, with an expected starting price of around USD 2,000 (approximately Rs 1.88 lakh) before taxes. In India, the foldable iPhone could cost more than Rs 2 lakh. The event is expected to showcase the iPhone Ultra, Apple's first foldable smartphone, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.

Apple iPhone Ultra expected price

The foldable iPhone Ultra is tipped to start at around USD 2,000, or roughly Rs 1.88 lakh before taxes. Considering import duties and local pricing, its India price could exceed Rs 2 lakh, making it one of the most expensive foldable smartphones available.

Apple iPhone 18 Pro expected price

The iPhone 18 Pro is also expected to see a significant price increase. Reports suggest the device could start at USD 1,399 (around Rs 1.32 lakh), compared with the USD 1,099 starting price of the iPhone 17 Pro.

The expected price hike is reportedly driven by rising memory and storage costs, following recent price increases across several Apple products, including MacBooks and iPads.

Apple iPhone Ultra, iPhone 18 Pro expected specifications

Both the iPhone Ultra and iPhone 18 Pro are expected to be powered by Apple's next-generation A20 chipset and ship with iOS 27 out of the box.

The iPhone 18 Pro is likely to retain a design similar to its predecessor while introducing new colour options. Although camera resolutions may remain unchanged, Apple is reportedly working on camera improvements, including a variable aperture for the primary sensor to deliver better exposure control, improved depth-of-field effects and more natural background blur in videos.
