Apple iPhone tricks: Here's how to measure your height using iPhone's camera

Apple has numerous hidden features. One of them is an app called "Measure" which uses the cameras on your smartphone to help you measure objects. You could even use it to measure your own or someone else's height if you wanted, and the best part is that it's fairly accurate. Here is how you do it.

Simply open the Measure app, point your iPhone at the person you want to measure, and ensure they are visible on the screen from head to toe.

After a brief moment, a line with the person's height measurement should appear at the top of their head. In the Settings app, under Measure - Measure Units, you can choose whether the measurement is displayed in feet and inches or centimetres.



- Tap the Take Picture button to capture a photo of the measurement.


- To save the image, tap the screenshot in the lower-left corner, then tap Done and select Save to Photos or Save to Files.


- You can easily access and share the height measurement image from your iPhone's Photos or Files at any time.


Please keep in mind that the feature is not available on iPhones that do not have a LiDAR Scanner. The iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max, iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max, and iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max models all include a LiDAR Scanner next to the rear camera, which can be used to instantly measure a person's height in Apple's pre-installed Measure app.
