Apple iPhone 18 event today: How to watch iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max, iPhone Ultra and everything expected

Apple’s “Surprise and shine” event is taking place today, September 9, with the keynote scheduled to begin at 10:30 pm IST in India. The event will be held at Apple Park in Cupertino, California, and Apple has confirmed that viewers can watch the special event online.

The keynote is expected to centre on Apple’s next iPhone lineup, including the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Reports also point to the company unveiling its first foldable iPhone, which has been widely referred to as the iPhone Ultra. New Apple Watch and AirPods models, along with possible smart-home products, are also expected.

Apple iPhone 18 event: How to watch live in India

Apple has confirmed that the event will begin at 10 am Pacific Time on September 9, which corresponds to 10:30 pm IST.

Indian viewers can watch the keynote live on Apple’s official website and through the Apple TV app. Apple’s developer page for the September event also lists YouTube Live as a viewing option.

The event can therefore be accessed online without attending the Apple Park presentation in person.

iPhone Ultra: Apple’s expected foldable iPhone

The biggest expected announcement is Apple’s first foldable iPhone. Reports suggest the device could be called the iPhone Ultra, although Apple has not confirmed the name.

The foldable is expected to use a book-style design, with an inner display of around 7.8 inches and an outer screen measuring roughly 5.4 to 5.5 inches. Reports have also pointed to a titanium frame and a thickness of around 4.5mm when unfolded and about 9mm when folded.

Other reported details include Touch ID integrated into the power button instead of Face ID, along with two 48-megapixel rear cameras and no dedicated telephoto camera.

Apple reportedly working on a smaller foldable crease

Reports suggest Apple has focused on making the crease on the foldable display less visible. A liquid-metal hinge and ultra-thin glass are among the technologies reportedly being considered as part of the design.

The company is also expected to discuss its upcoming software updates during the event. Reports suggest iOS 27 could include features tailored to the foldable, including side-by-side multitasking, iPad-style layouts and support for different hinge positions.

Updates for iPadOS, watchOS and other Apple platforms may also feature during the keynote.
