Apple iPhone 15 series gets massive updates; here's what you need to know

In September 2023, it is expected that Apple will introduce the iPhone 15 series, a highly anticipated release generating a lot of buzz among Apple enthusiasts. However, recent leaks suggest that the upcoming series will not include a red variant, which has been popularly associated with the (PRODUCT)RED partnership that Apple has maintained for the past 16 years.

An anonymous tipster known as Unknownz21, known for leaking information about the Vision Pro and iPhone 14 series, responded to a user's inquiry about color options for the iPhone 15 Pro on Twitter. The tipster revealed that there will be four color options available, none of which will be red.

Forbes has reached out to the leakster for further comments, but it remains uncertain whether the absence of the red variant is a temporary omission or a permanent decision by Apple. Currently, the (PRODUCT)RED option is limited to certain iPhones, covers, Apple Watch, watch bands, AirPods Pro Max, and other products.


Through its partnership with (PRODUCT)RED, Apple has been actively contributing to the fight against diseases such as AIDS, HIV, and COVID-19 on a global scale. The company has provided funds for prevention, treatment, and awareness programs related to these diseases.

In other leaks, a reliable Weibo account has disclosed that the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will feature a frosted back glass finish similar to the "Pro" models. This will cater to buyers who opt for the non-Pro versions but desire a sleek, satin-like finish reminiscent of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Additional leaks indicate that both the standard iPhone 15 and the Plus model will likely incorporate an A16 Bionic chip, Dynamic Island, and a USB Type-C port. One of the notable upgrades will be the inclusion of a 48MP primary lens, offering improved camera capabilities.
