Apple iPhone 15 series launch possibly be delayed to October due to display issues
The much-anticipated launch of Apple's iPhone 15 series might face a delay of a few weeks, as per a recent report by MacRumors. The global securities analyst at Bank of America, Wamsi Mohan, suggests that the launch event, which typically occurs in September, could be pushed to the fourth quarter of the year, potentially taking place between October and December. While the exact reason for the delay remains unspecified, it appears that issues with the availability of displays for certain iPhone models are causing complications.

The Information's latest report indicates that Apple is encountering problems with obtaining sufficient displays for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models, leading to potential limited availability at the launch. The primary cause of this delay lies in the screen manufacturing process at LG Display, where a new technique has been employed to reduce bezel size. This mirrors a similar problem faced with the Apple Watch 7 display, which caused sales to be delayed by one month.

The crux of the display issue centers on the iPhone 15 Pro model, where its display reportedly fails reliability tests during the fusion process with the metal shell. To address this, Apple is working closely with LG to make the necessary adjustments to ensure the displays pass the required tests successfully.

Despite these display challenges, it is important to note that the iPhone 15 series launch is still expected to take place on time in September, according to other reports. These conflicting reports have left consumers and tech enthusiasts eager to witness Apple's latest offerings puzzled about the exact timing of the launch event.

Historically, Apple released its iPhone 14 series on September 7 of the previous year, with the iPhone 14 Plus debuting a month later due to disruptions caused by Chinese lockdowns at manufacturing sites.

Looking ahead, Apple enthusiasts can anticipate the release of four models within the iPhone 15 series: iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. As the tech giant navigates through display-related challenges, the excitement for the upcoming launch remains palpable.
