When it comes to data protection, many consumers prefer Apple over Android. But a recent report about thieves stealing iPhones and breaking into it has shocked iOS users across the world.

As per a report published by the Wall Street Journal, thieves started spying on the target's iPhone passcode before stealing the smartphone to gain access in order to acquire user data.

After getting through the iPhone's lock, these thieves are stealing cash from bank applications, accessing credit cards through Apple Pay and payments platforms.

Once the thieves gain the iPhone's passcode, they can also easily reset the user's Apple ID password from Settings app even if Touch ID or Face ID is enabled on the device.

When you're in public, cover your screen if you're surrounded by people. Especially when you're putting your passcodes or using instant-payment applications. Rely on Face ID or Touch ID when you're out to prevent snooping.

Don't be predictable or basic by using 1-2-3-4-5-6 as your passcode. Use digits that hold a special meaning to you and are something you haven't shared with many. Keep the passcode complex.
