Veteran actor Anupam Kher recently gave his fans a good laugh by sharing his light-hearted bewilderment over the quirky and, at times, perplexing symbols used to mark male and female public toilets.

In a video posted on Instagram, Kher humorously pointed out how restroom signs in today’s restaurants, dubbing theatres and film studios often require a moment’s pause before you can work out which door to enter.

“There’s one thing I just don’t understand these days. To indicate toilets meant for men and women, they add such elaborate or abstract images that can easily leave you scratching your head,” he remarked with a smile.

The actor illustrated his point with examples from a studio’s own restrooms, jokingly questioning why the signage couldn’t be as straightforward and universally recognisable as it used to be.

In his caption, Kher invited his followers to share whether they had faced similar ‘loo sign’ confusion, sparking a wave of relatable and witty responses.

On the professional front, Anupam Kher’s latest release, Tanvi The Great, continues to win hearts. The poignant drama explores themes of courage, resilience and aspiration, telling the tale of a young girl with autism who dreams of serving in the Indian Army, inspired by the memory of her late father.

The film has been showcased at prestigious festivals in Cannes, New York, Houston and London, earning accolades for its heartfelt storytelling and compelling performances.
