Anupam Kher and Kirron Kher's Mumbai home recently opened its doors to fans as their son Sikander Kher offered a glimpse inside the family residence. During a home tour with Pinkvilla, Sikander walked through the family apartment, revealing a space filled with photographs, awards, memorabilia and personal artefacts collected by the Khers over the years.

Inside Anupam and Kirron Kher's Mumbai home

The personal touch is visible even before entering the house. A traditional nameplate bearing the names “kirron anupam” hangs beside the entrance. The doorway opens into a relatively narrow passage lined with personal belongings before leading into the spacious living area.

Anupam Kher's living room filled with memories

The main living space blends contemporary interiors with several nostalgic elements. Cream-toned seating and warm lighting give the room a sophisticated look, while traditional paintings, framed photographs and antique pieces add a personal character.

Several Ganesha idols can be seen around the room, along with decorative objects that Kirron has collected over the years. The walls and shelves are also filled with memories from the Kher family's personal and professional lives.

Photographs of Anupam and Kirron from different stages of their careers are displayed alongside family pictures. Memorabilia connected to some of Sikander's films can also be spotted around the house.

Awards and memorabilia take centre stage

One of the most interesting sections of the home is a wooden table dedicated to the couple's achievements. Awards won by both Anupam and Kirron have been carefully displayed there.

During the tour, Sikander revealed that some of the objects in the house are around 25 to 30 years old. He also shared that many of them were personally picked by his mother, adding to the sentimental value of the collection.

Dining area and a compact mandir

The living room leads into a dining section featuring an oval glass table surrounded by wooden chairs. Beside it is a compact mandir built into the wall, with idols of various deities.

A floor-to-ceiling doorway behind the seating area opens onto the balcony. Overlooking trees and greenery, the balcony offers a quieter view of the city. Sikander briefly paused during the tour to take in the surroundings.

A home built around family memories

Rather than simply showcasing celebrity luxury, the Kher residence reflects the family's personal history. From decades-old artefacts and career memorabilia to family photographs and objects collected over the years, the Mumbai apartment serves as a visual record of Anupam and Kirron Kher's life and memories.

Anupam Kher gets recognition for his career

Veteran actor Anupam Kher spoke about the recognition he received for his contribution to Indian and international cinema in the US.

He described the honour as a deeply moving moment. Taking to Instagram, Kher shared the news with his fans and expressed gratitude for the honour. He said it was deeply moving to see his journey acknowledged, including his work in Indian and international cinema, National Film Awards, Padma honours and contributions to institutions that have shaped generations of artists.

The actor also highlighted the special mention of his musical “Jaane Pehchaane Anjane,” which explores relationships and human connections. He said performing the musical in Raleigh and receiving such a warm welcome made the recognition even more meaningful.

Anupam Kher tries rock climbing

Recently, Kher received attention for an an unexpected challenge he pulled off at the age of 71. The Kashmir files actor posted a video of himself attempting rock climbing at a mall in Raleigh, North Carolina. Despite his initial hesitation, he successfully climbed a 35-foot indoor rock-climbing wall with the help of an instructor.

Sharing his experience, Kher said people often give up on a challenge even before trying because they convince themselves that they cannot do it. He admitted that watching other participants struggle to reach the top also made him consider giving up.

However, his instructor encouraged him to continue and helped him push past his doubts. Kher eventually completed the climb, turning what began as a moment of hesitation into a successful challenge.
