Another pit bull attack: Gurugram woman fights for life
There have three known cases of serious attacks by pit bulls in recent weeks. One each in Gurugram, Meerut and Lucknow

It's the third known case in recent weeks - a pit bull mauled a 30-year-old woman in Gurugram, leaving her with serious injuries on her head and face.
Munni, a domestic help who works in the Civil Lines area, was attacked by the ferocious dog which the owner had taken for a walk on the street and left the harness loose
Police filed a case against the owners of the dog, Neetu and Vineet Chikara, and will take action against them according to law, PTI reported.
Earlier this month, a a pit bull attacked and critically injured a teenager in Meerut when he passed by the dog tied at the gate of a house. Reports said locals had to use a screwdriver to pry its jaws open and free the teen.
And last month, a pit bull mauled its 82-year-old owner to death in Lucknow.
The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), India, has already urged the central government to amend the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Dog Breeding and Marketing) Rules, 2017, to prohibit the keeping, breeding, and sale of foreign breeds like pit bulls which are bred for fighting and aggression.
In India, inciting dogs to fight is illegal, yet organised dogfights are prevalent in some parts of the country. It's a lifetime of suffering for these dogs which are either used in illegal fights or or kept on heavy chains as attack dogs.
