A simple cycling excursion turned into a nightmare for a class seven student from Kerala after a stray dog attacked him in the streets of Kozhikode.

In a now viral video, a stray dog can be seen leaping onto the victim, as he cycles in a narrow street. The dog then proceeds to pounce onto the boy, latching onto his leg and attacking him repeatedly.

This isn't the first time the dog has attacked a child, with three other children affected. A 40-year-old man was also attacked by the same canine.

The class seven boy has been identified as Nooras, from Kozhikode's Arakkinar area. Nooras is one of six people attacked by stray dogs in his town, on Sunday.

This is the latest in a spate of canine-related incidents with multiple societies in the NCR area seeing dog attacks in the past few weeks. Recently, a pet dog attacked a man inside a lift in a Noida housing society.

In light of this, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has asked residents to get their pets registered, warning that action will be taken in case of non-compliance.
