Anand Mahindra Monday Motivation: Mahindra chairman tweets picture of a young child napping before the Chess competition
A tired napping boy who travelled 1600 km for a chess competition is this week's feature on Anand Mahindra’s “Monday Motivation” segment.

At Hosur, Tamil Nadu, there were 1600 students participating in the school chess competition. Mahindra mentioned one boy's trip to the event, when he declared his desire to follow in the footsteps of current world number one Magnus Carlsen. In the picture, one can see several participants and the boy sitting and napping in front of his competitor.
Nipun Marya, Indian CEO of IQOO, a popular electronics brand, replied to Mahindra’s tweet. He congratulated and wished the child well. He further mentioned that the boy teaches us to push ourselves and break boundaries.
A recent school chess competition in Hosur had 1600 kids from all over. This boy traveled all night by bus (changing buses twice) then walked from the depot. Took a nap before the match. Wants to be the next Magnus. Kids like him shape India’s future. He’s my #MondayMotivation pic.twitter.com/1WhlapiLCn

Mahindra’s followers have pointed out the inspiration in the young boy’s story and also praised the billionaire’s effort to promote the child’s story.
However, several others have tweeted in support of better sports infrastructure in the nation. One user recalled how underfunded the competition was during their days and how the problem has still persisted. A user suggested that the government should have arranged transport facilities for the participants who are from distant areas.
The tweet has gone viral and it has received over 17 thousand likes on Twitter. Nevertheless, Mahindra’s “Monday Motivation” series is a source of inspiration with unknown stories of human grit and inspiration against all odds.
