Anand Mahindra declares Shah Rukh Khan a 'natural resource' as 'Jawan' soars globally at the box office

"Jawan," Shah Rukh Khan's latest action-packed thriller, has arrived on the big screen and is already making ripples in the Bollywood world. Early forecasts indicate that this movie feast will smash box office records, setting new standards for blockbuster debuts.

Directed by the talented Atlee and featuring an ensemble cast that includes SRK, Nayanthara, and Vijay Sethupathi, "Jawan" had been riding a wave of sky-high expectations ever since its announcement. On its opening day, "Jawan" struck gold both in its home country and overseas. Down under, in Australia and New Zealand, the film secured the top spot at the box office, while in Germany, it claimed the third position. Domestically, "Jawan" not only lived up to the hype but surpassed it, shattering previous records for Bollywood debuts.

In Australia, "Jawan" raked in an impressive A$ 398,030 (approximately Rs. 2.11 crore), and in New Zealand, it added NZ$ 79,805 (around Rs. 42.44 lakh) to its tally. Moreover, the film made a mark in Germany, earning €146,014 (about Rs. 1.30 crore), securing a notable third place in the weekend box office rankings. The United Kingdom also witnessed the "Jawan" magic, with earnings of £ 208,061 (around Rs. 2.16 crore), and more territories are yet to report.

Overseas, in the USA and Canada, "Jawan" embarked on a flying start, with updated collections still awaited. The film's global appeal is evident as it continues to draw audiences across borders.

Impressive opening day collections

Not just in terms of audience turnout but also in monetary terms, "Jawan" has made a significant impact. On its first day, the film grossed 65 crore net in Hindi, 5 crore net in Tamil, and 5 crore net in Telugu. On Thursday, September 7th, "Jawan" had a fantastic overall occupancy rate of 58.67 percent, living up to the great expectations that had surrounded its release.
