Soon after business tycoon Anand Mahindra praised Aaryan Shukla, the 14-year-old 'human calculator', the teenager took to social media to reveal the secret behind his talent.

"Thank you very much Sir. I am a Mental Calculator (Human Calculator). The technique is called "Flash Anzan" where you have to process the numbers flashing on the screen at lightning speed. The base is Abacus. While I have been training for last 8 years to achieve this. Thanks!" said Aaryan Shukla in reply to Anand Mahindra.

What did Anand Mahindra ask?

Previously, while sharing his thoughts with a video clip, Anand Mahindra said "14-year-old Aaryan Shukla from India, last month broke the world record for the Fastest time to mentally add 100 four-digit numbers - 30.9 sec Leaves you dazed & bewildered. Congratulations Aaryan! I’ve seen some videos before of kids using this technique where the hands are used, in some way, to aid calculation. I’m sure Aaryan has a special gift beyond the ordinary, but are there any sites which give a primer on the fundamentals of this technique? I’m not looking to break any world record. Maybe I can use it for some simple, daily business calculations!"

Aaryan Shukla’s exceptional mental math skills have placed him among the world’s best human calculators. At just 14 years old, he has already broken six Guinness World Records in a single day. His secret to success lies in daily practice, discipline, and a sharp mind. The Guinness World Records team spoke to Aaryan and his family about his training routine, revealing the intense effort behind his achievements—he practices for five to six hours every day.

Aaryan says mental calculations happen in the blink of an eye. "It's so fast that you can't think, you just do it naturally," he explains. But he had been working very hard at making numbers compute in his head—now. His mother remembers how he showed an early talent for numbers, starting to practice mental math at six and winning international competitions by eight. Alongside rigorous training, Aaryan credits yoga for helping him stay calm and focused, proving that mental agility is as much about mindset as it is about skill.
