Amravati Minor Abuse Case: Accused Arrested for Filming and Blackmailing Girls, Police Probe Expands
A shocking minor abuse case has emerged from Amravati district, where a 19-year-old youth has been arrested for allegedly filming and blackmailing minor girls. The accused has been remanded in police custody until 21 April as investigations continue into what authorities describe as a serious case of sexual exploitation and cyber blackmail.

Amravati Abuse Case: Videos Allegedly Used for Blackmail

The incident has sent shockwaves through the neighbouring towns of Paratwada and Achalpur, where multiple obscene videos reportedly surfaced online. According to police sources, nearly 100 videos are believed to have circulated, allegedly showing minor girls under pressure.

The accused, identified as Ayan Ahmed Tanveer Ahmed, is said to have lured victims through social media platforms. He allegedly built relationships with the girls before subjecting them to abuse and recording the acts without consent. These recordings were then reportedly used for blackmail and intimidation.

Police Investigation and Cyber Cell Action

Authorities have intensified the Amravati police investigation, examining the accused’s mobile phone and digital evidence. Officials suspect that at least one accomplice may have been involved in filming the incidents, indicating a broader network of exploitation.

The cyber cell has begun efforts to remove the viral content from social media platforms. Superintendent of Police Vishal Anand stated that law enforcement is also monitoring individuals who downloaded or shared the videos, warning of strict action against those circulating such material.

SP Anand said, "Police are monitoring posts of those who downloaded videos and are recirculating it."

Political Reaction and Official Response

The case gained attention after complaints were filed by Dr Anil Bonde and Shivrai Kulkarni, who urged immediate action. They alleged that multiple girls had been targeted through social media, sparking public outrage and calls for accountability.

State authorities have also taken note of the incident. Chandrashekhar Bawankule confirmed that Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has been informed, and a thorough investigation is underway to uncover all aspects of the case.

Victim Support and Appeal for Reporting

Despite the severity of the allegations, police confirmed that no formal complaints have yet been filed by victims or their families, largely due to social stigma. Authorities have urged families to come forward, assuring full confidentiality and support, including legal assistance and counselling services.

As the investigation progresses, more details are expected to emerge, with authorities committed to ensuring justice and preventing further harm.
