Vehicle fire reported shortly after shooting
Soon after the shooting, Abbotsford police officers responded to a separate report of a vehicle fire in the 2400-block of Sunnyside Place. They found an SUV fully engulfed in flames. Canadian and Indian media reports linked the targeted vehicle to Virk’s concert convoy and said the singer was travelling in the vehicle. Virk’s father, Kuljit Singh, later said that his son was safe and that, according to information from Virk’s brother, the shooting was not directed at the singer’s vehicle but was related to the party that organised the show.
