West Asia is engulfed in escalating tensions, with Iran launching attacks on neighbouring countries while the United States and Israel target Iran. Amid the confrontation, industrialist Harsh Goenka offered a humorous take on the complex geopolitics, comparing it to a classic Bollywood storyline.

In a post on X, Goenka wrote, “West Asia geopolitics is starting to look like a Bollywood plot.

India with Israel.

Israel with the US.
US with Pakistan.
Pakistan with Iran.

Yet India and Pakistan remain enemies.”

Drawing a parallel with the Bollywood film Muqaddar Ka Sikandar, he added:

“Amjad loves Rekha.
Rekha loves Amitabh.
Amitabh loves Rakhee.
Rakhee loves Vinod Khanna.

And in the middle of it all… Amjad and Amitabh are still enemies.

Geopolitics Bollywood.”

Notably, Pakistan has condemned the US–Israel strikes on Iran, while India has not.

Earlier this week, India expressed deep concern over the escalating conflict in Iran and the Gulf region, urging all sides to exercise restraint and prioritise civilian safety. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri on Thursday signed the condolence book at the Embassy of Iran in New Delhi on behalf of the Government of India, expressing sympathy following the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The United States and Israel launched military strikes on Iran on February 28, in which Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed.

Following the offensive, Iran carried out a wave of attacks mainly targeting Israel and American military bases across several Gulf countries, including the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

In recent days, the conflict has widened significantly with multiple attacks and counter-attacks by both sides.

India has called for resolving the crisis through dialogue and diplomacy.
