Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan has indicated that he will take a break from posting on social media after being advised to rest and recover for a few days. The actor shared the update on X on Wednesday, apologising to fans for being unable to write at the moment, but did not disclose the reason behind the advice.

“Apologies. I seek forgiveness. I have been advised to take a few days off to rest and recover, so I am unable to write anything at the moment,” Bachchan wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

The announcement prompted concern among fans who regularly follow the actor's social media updates. Bachchan had also shared a similar message on his official blog a day earlier, indicating that he had been asked to limit his communication while recuperating.

Amitabh Bachchan's name emerges in reports on firing investigation

Bachchan's social media update comes amid reports that investigators probing the recent firing incident involving actor Tiger Shroff are examining whether the accused had considered targeting other prominent Bollywood personalities.

According to reports, Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Aamir Khan were among the high-profile figures allegedly considered by the accused before they reportedly concluded that carrying out attacks at their residences would be difficult.

The accused are also reported to have shared photographs and videos of locations they had surveyed with gangster Anil Pandit, who is said to be linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, and sought guidance on their next move. The investigation into the firing incident is ongoing.

However, Bachchan has not linked his decision to take a break from social media to the investigation, and no such connection has been established in the information available.
