Sitaare Zameen Par budget
In an interview on The Town with Matthew Belloni podcast, Amir Khan said the initial budget of the film was $11 million (Rs 96 crore), but said that the cost went higher as his partners back out of the project when they realised the actor's YouTube release plans. He said, "I had to pay a price also because I had a partner with me earlier, and they weren’t very keen on this rash idea of mine."
Khan shared that his partners were not happy with him turning down the money; hence, they preferred buying them out. He added, "And so therefore the film has actually cost me about USD 14 million (Rs 122 crore); let’s say between USD 14 and USD 15 million (Rs 122 Cr to Rs 133 Cr).”
