Ambedkar Jayanti 2025: Will Delhi banks, schools, colleges and offices remain closed on April 14?

Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has declared a public holiday on Monday, April 14, on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti.

All government offices, autonomous bodies and public sector undertakings under the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi will remain closed tomorrow.

Are banks closed tomorrow?

All private and public sector banks across Delhi will be shut on Monday. Banking services will be unavailable, but customers can continue to access essential services through ATMs, mobile banking, and internet banking platforms as usual.

Are offices closed tomorrow?

All government offices in Delhi will be closed on Monday. However, private offices are not bound by the public holiday and may operate as per their usual working hours.



Further, essential services like hospitals, ration shops, and general stores are expected to remain operational on Ambedkar Jayanti. However, Outpatient Departments (OPDs) in some hospitals may remain closed for the day. People are advised to check with local facilities for specific timings and availability.

All educational institution have a holiday on Monday. Both private and government schools and colleges are expected to be closed.

The government declares a public holiday on Ambedkar Jayanti every year. This year is no exception and a holiday has officially been announced. The holiday order was issued on Tuesday by the General Administration Department of the Delhi Government.
